Death of Marcus Davies (Midhurst ringer)

It is with great sadness that we have been informed that Marcus Davies died early last week (late April/early May). Marcus was the tower captain at Midhurst, West Sussex.

His funeral is taking place on Monday, 20th May at Midhurst Church at 1.15pm, followed by a family only cremation. Refreshments will be provided after the cremation at The Weald & Downland Museum, Singleton. Midhurst local ringers will ring before the service, and the bells will be available for general ringing after the service.

The on-street parking near the church is usually full. Visitors are recommended to park at The Grange community centre. The first 2 hours of parking is free, for which a ticket must be displayed. The Grange is a short walk from the church.

Death of John Warner (Heathfield ringer)

It is with great sadness that we have been informed that John Warner passed away peacefully in hospital on 26 April 2019. John had been a ringer had Heathfield for a number of years, was previously a ringer at Rye, and originally learned to ring at Edenbridge.

We understand that the funeral is likely to be a private family event.
